A family farm growing certified seed potatoes for more than 40 years.
Prairie Moon Potatoes is located just south of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. What started as a small farm has grown into a dedicated seed potato operation supplying customers across the prairies.
Since 1982, our focus has been simple: grow healthy, vigorous seed potatoes that perform well in real prairie conditions. That means paying attention to soil, water, crop rotation, disease pressure, and the day-to-day work that keeps a farm running safely and efficiently.
Today, we combine experience and new technology to continuously improve how we plant, care for, and harvest each crop.
We hire and retain motivated staff, provide clear task guidelines, and make safety training a priority so everyone can go home safe at the end of the day.
We look for practical ways to improve, from updated agricultural practices and GPS steering to better irrigation and integrated pest management.
We aim to protect soil health and reduce chemical use wherever possible. Crop rotation, green manures, and careful monitoring help us grow strong crops year after year.
We provide training for staff and support public education about horticulture and agriculture in Saskatchewan and beyond. Agritourism and on-farm learning are part of sharing what we do.
Generating an agri-business that is sustainable, innovative, and profitable, built on strong farming practices and respect for the land.
